**Don't forget to order your favorite stamp sets before they're gone forever! June 30th is the LAST day to order!**
One of the many perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is being able to see the brand new Idea Book & Catalog a whole month before anyone else. I received mine yesterday & all I can say is "WOW!" It is full of LOST of amazing new things that I can't wait to get my hands on & play with :) If anyone is interested in having their own copy of the new Idea Book & Catalog - or IB&C - for a special price of $6 let me know & I will mail one to you. I can't mail them any earlier than June 28th but I'd love to drop one in the mail for you so please email me at: sarah.goke@gmail.com or call me: (915)799-3187. If you already have a demonstrator please order one from them. However, if you don't have a demo already I'd love to be yours :)
Okay, so now on to today's share! My oldest son asked me to make a graduation card for the leader of the trumpet section; he wanted me to make a "big" card so all of the trumpets could sign it for her. What do you think of this:
The music notes are actually a wheel (pg. 125) in the current IB&C. I didn't have the wheel but fortunately it is download for My Digital Studio! I made my own"sheets of music" in MDS & printed a few onto Whisper White & Very Vanilla card stocks so now I have them on hand for whenever I want it again ;) I layered the "sheets of music" onto the very top & bottom of the Basic Black card base being sure to leave a large enough area in the middle to put the sentiment & butterflies. The sentiment is from the stamp set "Word Play" & was stamped in Versa Mark then embossed in gold on a piece of Basic Black card stock. This was then layered onto a piece of Real Red & adhered to the card with Snail. I used the Beautiful Wings embosslits die & ran it through my Big Shot with another "sheet of music". Those were on dimensionals to give it some texture. On the inside of the card & layered a piece of white card stock to the top & bottom so everyone's signatures could be read :)
My son told me she was a bit teary-eyed when they gave it to her; I would say it served it's purpose, wouldn't you? ;) Hope you enjoyed the simple creation today. Have a great week & thanks for stopping by!

I can't believe that it's Memorial Day weekend already! We were extremely busy for a couple of weeks moving into a different house & the month of May has disappeared! Before we moved I got busy & made all the cards that would need to be mailed from May 1st - July 31st. I felt so good having everything done ahead of time; I even put them all together in a large craft keeper with a book of stamps. Well, in my eagerness I completely forgot all about GRADUATION; it never crossed my mind. There have been 3 graduates that have been brought to my attention so I've had to scramble to get their cards made. The first one was for our sister-in-law who graduated from nursing school; I needed it NOW & forgot to take a picture before I mailed it. :( A very close friend of ours also graduated from nursing school last night & I wanted to see if I could incorporate some medical stuff on his card. I found a template online for a shirt & here is what I came up with:
This was made using My Digital Studio. It was trimmed down & the edges were sponged in Basic Gray. I am very happy the way this card turned out; I wish I did this one for my sister-in-law too! Maybe I'll make one & send it to her just because... ;)
There is NO STAMPING on this card! *gasp* I printed out the shirt template on a piece of Pacific Point card stock & cut it out. The stethoscope is all paper pieced & drawn by hand. Once that was done I hand drew the pocket onto a scrap of Pacific Point. I laid it all out the way I wanted it first & then glued the pocket down so that the stethoscope ended up on top. After the scrub top was put together I used several dimensionals to put it on the card front. I then added the stitching around the collar & pocket using a white gel pen. The edges of the card were sponged with Basic Gray classic ink. This is what the inside looked like:
