A new week - Freshly Made Sketches #3

Pin It Now!

Last week I had planned on completing the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches but it didn't happen; time got away from me. However I managed to try it out this morning & I am really excited to share my creation with you today! :) It makes me smile just looking at it :)

I must say I haven't really been a huge fan of the vintage look up until now. But I confess I love how this went together & the colors I used. The card base is Baja Breeze & I stamped the sentiment from the set "Snow Swirled" in Soft Suede. I punched a piece of Pink Pirouette card stock using the Scallop Trim Border punch then sponged the edges with Pink Pirouette ink before adhering it to the card base using sticky strip. I cut a piece of 4 1/4" x 1 1/2" Very Vanilla card stock & created a pattern using the tree from the same stamp set, "Snow Swirled", & Baja Breeze ink. I also sponged the edges with Baja Breeze & adhered that using sticky strip. On a 3 3/4" x 2 1/5" piece of Very Vanilla card stock I stamped the girl from the set "Greeting Card Kids" with StazOn. I colored her in using a few markers (Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Always Artichoke, & Crumb Cake, & Blush Blossom) & a blender pen. I inked up the mid-sized snowflake from "Snow Swirled" with Baja Breeze ink & stamped it twice. I then inked up the smallest snowflake from that set with Crumb Cake ink & stamped it a few times. The edges were sponged in Crumb Cake before being popped up on dimensionals on the card base. I used my Real Red marker & colored the tiny ornaments on the tree & added some Dazzling Details to parts of her hat & coat. I used the Doily Triple Layer punch set on the 2nd position & punched out "snowflakes" out of Baja Breeze & Pink Pirouette card stock. The edges were sponged in the coordinating color & popped up on a dimensional. I added a large rhinestone to the centers & a tiny rhinestone on the top of the tree.

I confess I'm starting to really like the vintage look the Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, & Crumb Cake create. I'm wondering what other creations I can come up with using them...? :) Hope this little card makes you smile too :) Have a great day!

Sketch Challenge - CCMC168

Pin It Now! I saw a challenge over at Create with Connie & Mary & decided to play along. I must admit the idea that I had in my mind isn't what came out; almost didn't want to share it. However it isn't horrible so here it is :)

When I first pictured it I didn't realize this tree was so wide; it takes up more space than anticipated but I went with it anyway. The stamp set I pulled out for this is a new one from the Holiday Mini called "Christmas Lodge". I inked up the tree with Garden Green classic ink & stamped it directly on a 2 7/8" x 4" piece of white card stock & then sponged the edges with Basic Gray. To make the piece stand out even more I inked up a sponge with some Basic Black ink & ran the sponge right along the cut edges. I stamped the sentiment from the same set in Versa Mark directly onto the black card base & heat embossed it using the new Pewter emboss powder. I cut three different lengths of the new Cherry Cobbler quilted ribbon (also in the new mini) & adhered them using some glue dots onto the card base. Main image was popped up on dimensionals & then I added some of the smallest rhinestones. To add some more color to the tree I used a Sharpie & colored several of the smallest rhinestones & added the "ornaments" to the tree.

It isn't my favorite card but it turned out to be more of a challenge than originally thought ;) Guess I'm just having one of those off days creating :) Back to the drawing board so I can share a "Wow!" with all of you next time ;) Enjoy your weekend & I'll be back soon!
