It's a Girl!

Pin It Now! No there is no new baby here! Some friends of ours had their first baby late Thursday night & we got to see her Friday. Since I just got my computer hooked up & running I wanted to share with you the adorable card I made for them. It was quick & easy to put together & I actually made up several to have on hand. It seems like we know of a lot of babies that will be born between now & Christmas so I wanted to be prepared. I also made up several baby boy cards too that I will share another time ;) Well, are you ready to see the sweet card?

How stinkin' cute is that!? The go-to set I grabbed was "Baby Bundle" & I just stamped the buggy onto some water color paper using black StazOn. The Stamp-a-ma-jig came in handy for the bear & the booties. Before I stamped the bear I covered the buggy with a piece of scrap paper so his little legs didn't show. I grabbed my Aqua Painters along with Blushing Bride, Soft Suede, & Basic Gray classic ink pads to color everything. I sponged the edges with Early Espresso & put it on a piece of Blushing Bride card stock. I took a piece of Early Espresso card stock 3" x 4" & ran it through the Big Shot using the small dots design on one of the plates from the Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates. I cut the piece in half so I had two pieces measuring 1 /2" x 4" each. I then cut a piece of Blushing Bride designer series paper measuring 2" x 4". I wanted to wrap my Very Vanilla satin ribbon around just the background  panel & not the entire card front so here's a TIP: cut a piece of scrap paper slightly smaller (3 3/4" x 4 3/4") & adhere the 3 panels to that to make sure you've lined them up properly. This way you have created a sturdier panel to wrap your ribbon around since you had 3 separate pieces. Take your Very Vanilla satin ribbon & tie it onto the panel you created. Use Snail to adhere this panel to the Blushing Bride card front & pop up the main image on dimensionals. Voila! Wasn't that quick & simple? I hope you enjoyed the post today. I really love how the colors work so well together. Have a great day & I'll see you back here soon.

Happy Mother's Day

Pin It Now! Here is a quick & easy card to help celebrate Mother's Day. It is CASed from the one in the catalog on pg. 50; I just changed the colors basically.

The colors used here are Perfect Plum, Blushing Bride, & Very Vanilla. There is also a little bit of Sahara Sand for the border. It may be a little hard to see but the flower image is stamped onto the card base using versa mark. The border was punched out of Sahara Sand card stock. The stamp set used was "Messages for Mom". This card went together so quick & easy! With all the different messages in the stamp set this card could work for birthday or just because.

I want to wish all you mother's a very Happy Mother's Day this weekend. My mom & I live too far apart for me to see her but I know we'll at least talk on the phone. She's a simple stamper, too, & since she reads my blog I can't show you the card I made for her ;) So "No, Mom, This is not the card that should be arriving in your mailbox soon." :) See? No spoiler here! :)

On a personal note: We're in the process of moving to a different house & I don't know when I'll be able to post again. I know I don't post daily now *wink* however I'm not sure how soon I'll get to post again. If I was more prepared I could have had some things set up to post while I'm busy; unfortunately things are moving a bit faster than I thought (that or I'm slower than I thought...) Anyway, I hope to be back by next Friday but please hang on & don't give up on me. :) Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Now I'm off to the new place to unpack some more so I can come back & pack again. One of the pros to moving to a different house in the same town versus a whole different town/state. ;)

Awash with Flowers

Pin It Now! Here is one of the projects we did at the Stamp Camp last weekend:

First we ran the entire card through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. Using Snail we attached a piece of DSP from the pack "Sweet & Sour. We then layered Rose Red & Pumpkin Pie card stock to create a frame for our main image. One a piece of Very Vanilla we stamped the large bloom from the set "Awash with Flowers" using Jet Black StazOn. We then inked up the stem from the same set & stamped that with the StazOn. We colored the flower using Aqua Painters & Rose Red classic ink. The stem was colored in using the Wild Wasabi marker. Before popping the Very Vanilla card stock up with dimensionals we inked up the sentiment from "Occasional Quotes" with a Pumpkin Pie marker & stamped that in the bottom corner. I think I've mentioned this before but who would have thought Pumpkin Pie & Rose Red would look so great together!? I must admit it has quickly become one of my favorite color combos ;)

I hope all of you have a very blessed Easter weekend. Tomorrow (Saturday) we'll be dyeing eggs with our youngest; the older two (ages 15 & 10) are no longer interested ;). Hopefully I can post a picture of the event this weekend. Take care & enjoy. God Bless!

For All You Do

Pin It Now! Good Monday morning! It's not quite 7 AM & already the temp is 71; a very great start to the week ;) Yesterday was the April Stamp Camp & we had a fun time! We focused on our favorite ladies & made a couple Mother's Day cards & birthday cards. Today I'd like to share one of the birthday cards with you. I stepped out of my comfort zone & used pink, orange, & purple together (gasp!) I'm quite pleased with how it turned out though; here it is:

The card base is Melon Mambo with a strip of Peach Parfait DSP (from the In Color designer series pack). We then added a layer of Elegant Eggplant with white card stock. The stems were stamped using Pear Pizzazz (my favorite green) ink. The flowers were done using Elegant Eggplant & Peach Parfait inks. The large flowers were stamped on a piece of white card stock, cut out, & popped up with dimensionals. On the inside we stamped "Birthday Wishes" from the set "Sincere Salutations" on white card stock using Pear Pizzazz & punched it out with the Decorative Label punch. The sentiment could easily be changed for different occasions, too.

I normally wouldn't pair these colors together but I decided to step out & try something new ;) Why not challenge yourself to try new color combos that you normally wouldn't this week? I promise you'll surprise yourself with the results! I'd love to hear what new "favorite" combos you come up with so leave a comment telling me what you've come up with. :) Enjoy your Monday!

Anniversary card for him

Pin It Now! My husband & I celebrated our wedding anniversary yesterday ~ 14 years! It sure doesn't feel like that much time has passed already, that is until you look at the pictures! :) It's amazing just how young we were. He brought me flowers on way home from work & took me out to dinner. When we got home we spent time with the kids before they went to bed & then spent the rest of the evening watching some TV. It was a great day :)
Today I want to share the card I made him. I used neutral colors & the stamp set "Bliss" from SAB (Now retired) . Here it is:
The base of the card is Crumb Cake with a layer of Early Espresso. I used the Framed Tulips embossing folder & ran it through the Big Shot. Using a sponge I added some color to the frame using Early Espresso ink. On a piece of Very Vanilla card stock I stamped the large image from the set "Bliss" using Crumb Cake ink & inked up "Bliss" with Early Espresso & stamped directly over the image. This piece was layered onto a piece of Crumb Cake & Early Espresso before adhering it to the layer with the frame. The butterfly was stamped using Crumb Cake ink & carefully cut out & put on dimensionals. I took a piece of Very Vanilla card stock & ran it through the Big Shot using the Top Note die & sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink. I used the "Happy Anniversary" sentiment from the set "Teeny Tiny Wishes" & stamped that using Early Espresso.
I find it a little difficult to make anniversary cards that aren't too frilly or feminine; have to keep the guys happy too ;) My husband really like this one so I'm all set for another year ;)  Hope you enjoyed today's post. Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Quick & Easy

Pin It Now! Good Friday morning! Hope everyone is ready to enjoy another weekend. For today's post I decided to share a very quick card that went together in about 15-20 minutes. I made it into a birthday card but you could use it for any occasion. You could do up several of these in different colors & leave the sentiment off until you need it, easy peasy! And who doesn't appreciate THAT!? ;) Well, are you ready to see the simple card? Here it is!

I chose Whisper White for the card base & added a Basic Black layer for a bit of contrast. I used Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, Pear Pizzazz, & Peach Parfait card stock & ran them through the Big Shot using the Floral Fusion sizzlets die. I layered each flower & put them all together using some Snail. I used a bit more Snail to put them on the top white layer & added some "bling" by using Basic Rhinestones for the centers. I then inked up the sentiment from the set "Teeny Tiny Wishes" with some Pear Pizzazz (any of the colors would have looked amazing!) & stamped it directly onto the white card stock. I am really pleased with the way this turned out & can't wait to experiment with other color combos. Hmmm....that sounds like an excellent reason to pull out my Color Coach...hehehe

Thank you for stopping by for today's quick & easy project. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! Enjoy! :)
