Awash with Flowers

Pin It Now! Here is one of the projects we did at the Stamp Camp last weekend:

First we ran the entire card through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. Using Snail we attached a piece of DSP from the pack "Sweet & Sour. We then layered Rose Red & Pumpkin Pie card stock to create a frame for our main image. One a piece of Very Vanilla we stamped the large bloom from the set "Awash with Flowers" using Jet Black StazOn. We then inked up the stem from the same set & stamped that with the StazOn. We colored the flower using Aqua Painters & Rose Red classic ink. The stem was colored in using the Wild Wasabi marker. Before popping the Very Vanilla card stock up with dimensionals we inked up the sentiment from "Occasional Quotes" with a Pumpkin Pie marker & stamped that in the bottom corner. I think I've mentioned this before but who would have thought Pumpkin Pie & Rose Red would look so great together!? I must admit it has quickly become one of my favorite color combos ;)

I hope all of you have a very blessed Easter weekend. Tomorrow (Saturday) we'll be dyeing eggs with our youngest; the older two (ages 15 & 10) are no longer interested ;). Hopefully I can post a picture of the event this weekend. Take care & enjoy. God Bless!

For All You Do

Pin It Now! Good Monday morning! It's not quite 7 AM & already the temp is 71; a very great start to the week ;) Yesterday was the April Stamp Camp & we had a fun time! We focused on our favorite ladies & made a couple Mother's Day cards & birthday cards. Today I'd like to share one of the birthday cards with you. I stepped out of my comfort zone & used pink, orange, & purple together (gasp!) I'm quite pleased with how it turned out though; here it is:

The card base is Melon Mambo with a strip of Peach Parfait DSP (from the In Color designer series pack). We then added a layer of Elegant Eggplant with white card stock. The stems were stamped using Pear Pizzazz (my favorite green) ink. The flowers were done using Elegant Eggplant & Peach Parfait inks. The large flowers were stamped on a piece of white card stock, cut out, & popped up with dimensionals. On the inside we stamped "Birthday Wishes" from the set "Sincere Salutations" on white card stock using Pear Pizzazz & punched it out with the Decorative Label punch. The sentiment could easily be changed for different occasions, too.

I normally wouldn't pair these colors together but I decided to step out & try something new ;) Why not challenge yourself to try new color combos that you normally wouldn't this week? I promise you'll surprise yourself with the results! I'd love to hear what new "favorite" combos you come up with so leave a comment telling me what you've come up with. :) Enjoy your Monday!

Anniversary card for him

Pin It Now! My husband & I celebrated our wedding anniversary yesterday ~ 14 years! It sure doesn't feel like that much time has passed already, that is until you look at the pictures! :) It's amazing just how young we were. He brought me flowers on way home from work & took me out to dinner. When we got home we spent time with the kids before they went to bed & then spent the rest of the evening watching some TV. It was a great day :)
Today I want to share the card I made him. I used neutral colors & the stamp set "Bliss" from SAB (Now retired) . Here it is:
The base of the card is Crumb Cake with a layer of Early Espresso. I used the Framed Tulips embossing folder & ran it through the Big Shot. Using a sponge I added some color to the frame using Early Espresso ink. On a piece of Very Vanilla card stock I stamped the large image from the set "Bliss" using Crumb Cake ink & inked up "Bliss" with Early Espresso & stamped directly over the image. This piece was layered onto a piece of Crumb Cake & Early Espresso before adhering it to the layer with the frame. The butterfly was stamped using Crumb Cake ink & carefully cut out & put on dimensionals. I took a piece of Very Vanilla card stock & ran it through the Big Shot using the Top Note die & sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink. I used the "Happy Anniversary" sentiment from the set "Teeny Tiny Wishes" & stamped that using Early Espresso.
I find it a little difficult to make anniversary cards that aren't too frilly or feminine; have to keep the guys happy too ;) My husband really like this one so I'm all set for another year ;)  Hope you enjoyed today's post. Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Quick & Easy

Pin It Now! Good Friday morning! Hope everyone is ready to enjoy another weekend. For today's post I decided to share a very quick card that went together in about 15-20 minutes. I made it into a birthday card but you could use it for any occasion. You could do up several of these in different colors & leave the sentiment off until you need it, easy peasy! And who doesn't appreciate THAT!? ;) Well, are you ready to see the simple card? Here it is!

I chose Whisper White for the card base & added a Basic Black layer for a bit of contrast. I used Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, Pear Pizzazz, & Peach Parfait card stock & ran them through the Big Shot using the Floral Fusion sizzlets die. I layered each flower & put them all together using some Snail. I used a bit more Snail to put them on the top white layer & added some "bling" by using Basic Rhinestones for the centers. I then inked up the sentiment from the set "Teeny Tiny Wishes" with some Pear Pizzazz (any of the colors would have looked amazing!) & stamped it directly onto the white card stock. I am really pleased with the way this turned out & can't wait to experiment with other color combos. Hmmm....that sounds like an excellent reason to pull out my Color Coach...hehehe

Thank you for stopping by for today's quick & easy project. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! Enjoy! :)

Is it Easter yet?

Pin It Now! Today I'd like to share an Easter card with you. Easter is still several weeks away but it's never too early to get some projects done :)

I inked up the grass from the set "Inspired by Nature" with Pear Pizzazz & stamped off onto Very Vanilla to get the shaded effect of the grass. On a piece of water color paper I stamped the little chick from the set "A Good Egg" with black StazOn & colored him in using the Daffodil Delight & Pumpkin Pie (for his beak) markers & a blender pen. For his shell I used the Bashful Blue marker & blender pen.I don't know if you can see it very well but I covered his shell in Crystal Effects to give it a shiny look. While this was drying I used the other decorative images from the same set ("A Good Egg") & stamped them onto Pear Pizzazz, Regal Rose, & Perfect Plum card stock. Using the 3/4" x 15/16" oval punch I punched these out to create eggs. Once the egg shell was completely dry I popped the chick up on dimensionals on a layer of Bashful Blue & attached this to the vanilla base with Snail. I inked up the sentiment from the same set using the Perfect Plum marker & stamped it directly on the vanilla base.  Before putting the entire vanilla layer onto the Bashful Blue card base I used the Ticket Corner punch on all four corners. Once this was attached I put the bottom egg in the grass using Snail & popped up the other two eggs using dimensionals. In the photo I added a small dot in each corner with the Perfect Plum marker but after the fact I decided to add some of the Basic Pearls. Of course I forgot to take a picture of those! Oh well, I hope you enjoyed today's share & are able to enjoy some spring wherever you are today. Have a great rest of the week & thanks for looking!

I'm Back!

Pin It Now! This week has been busy! My mother-in-law flew in last Friday & was able to be here with us when my husband returned home from a 6 month deployment to Iraq! He got here late Monday night & she had to leave yesterday morning. Our kids have been on spring break this week too so we've had a house full! The card I'm sharing with everyone today is one of my new favorites to do.

The card base is So Saffron with a Basic Black layer on top of it. I stamped the image from the set "Elements of Style" randomly a few times in StazOn on Whisper White. On a separate piece of Whisper White I stamped the image again & colored part of the image using my Aqua Painter & So Saffron & Certainly Celery ink pads. I punched the colored image out with the 1 1/4 inch Circle Punch & adhered it with Snail. I adhered this top layer to the black piece with Snail. I used a piece of 5/8 inch grosgrain ribbon (Basic Black) & wrapped it around the bottom third of the card. This entire layer is put on using dimensionals. The sentiment is punched with the new Decorative Label punch.  To create the So Saffron background to the sentiment I used the same punch & cut out the center & used Snail on the edges to create a frame. This is on dimensionals on the ribbon. This was actually quicker to put together than it looks ; )  Thanks for stopping by to look & hopefully I'll get back on track with regular posts. :) Have a wonderful weekend!
